Refund policy

Our Policy

We want you to love your new purchase! We have a 30-day return policy, which means you have 30 days from date of shipment to request a return of items purchased online from the Dedham Exchange website. Gifts purchased in the month of December may be returned through January 30 of the next year.

To be eligible for a return, your item must be in the same condition that you received it, unworn, unopened and unused, with tags, and in its original packaging. You’ll also need the receipt or proof of purchase. Some items are non-returnable, explained further below.

Online Shop Return Process

To start a return, you must first contact us at dedhamexchange@gmail.com with your order number and details about the item you would like to return. If your return is accepted, we’ll notify you and provide you with instructions on how and where to send your package. Items sent back to us without first requesting a return will not be accepted.

Damages and issues 

Please inspect your order upon receipt and contact us immediately if the item is defective, damaged or if you receive the wrong item so that we can evaluate the issue and try to make it right.

Exceptions / non-returnable items 

Certain types of items cannot be returned unless the item is damaged or defective or the wrong item is sent. Nonreturnable items include without limitation sale items, perishable or consumable goods (such as food), custom products (such as special orders or personalized items), holiday or themed items, and personal care goods (such as masks, and health and beauty products). Unfortunately, we cannot accept returns on gift cards. Please get in touch if you have questions or concerns about your specific item. 

Price Adjustments

We do not make price adjustments on previous purchases.

Gift Returns

Gift recipients may return eligible gift items back to the Dedham Exchange. Gift refunds will be issued as Dedham Exchange gift cards, redeemable online or in the store. To receive a refund to the original form of payment, the purchaser must return the item(s) themselves either in the store or by mail as outlined above. To begin the process, you must first contact us at dedhamexchange@gmail.com.

Refunds 

We will notify you once we’ve received and inspected your return, and let you know if the refund was approved or not. If approved, you’ll be automatically refunded to your original payment method. Refunds for items purchased with a gift card will be issued as a Dedham Exchange gift card. Gift cards cannot be redeemed for cash unless required by law. We do not refund the original shipping costs or the return shipping costs unless the item is defective, damaged or if you receive the wrong item. Please remember it can take some time for your bank or credit card company to process and post the refund too.
