Lisa WB Walker
Lisa creates beautiful and functional ceramics. She prefers working on the potter’s wheel but also hand builds her work particularly when she wants texture. Lisa incorporates drawing and photos in her design. It is important to Lisa to make things that people can interact with and use, and that will be beautiful in their homes. She chooses colors and themes that are joyful and have a sense of fun.
She started working in ceramics in high school and realized that she wanted to do more with pottery. She received a Studio Art degree from Skidmore College. After several years, she started a pottery business and became an art teacher. She offers art classes and workshops to children and adults.
Lisa describes herself as a “small batch” potter because she makes a limited number of objects in each collection. She experiments with different techniques to create more texture and to tell a story.
