We're Celebrating! 110 Years and Counting!
The Contentment Tea Room and Women's Exchange opened in 1914 in two rooms in a private home at 82 Court Street in Dedham, MA. There was a tea room, food shop and handiwork shop which provided a source of income for women for whom jobs were scarce or not considered appropriate. Today the Dedham Exchange represents about 200 artisans, mostly local, who make high quality, hand crafted items which delight our customers year after year. We carry beautiful and unique handcrafted and commercial gifts for every occasion. We are proud to be able to give back to the community through donations and college scholarships. The shop is run by dedicated women volunteers and talented staff. 110 years and counting!
