Kayla Dorsey-Twumasi is our featured artisan this month
Kayla Dorsey-Twumasi is a proud mom and artisan who established her Black owned business anewfoundlove in Lowell, Massachusetts. Inspired by her travels, and a passion for art, Kayla creates handmade jewelry, vibrant decorative pillows and cosmetic bags for “seekers of culture, and the lovers of style.”
Working in small batches, Kayla uses sustainable materials like recycled glass, brass, shells, stones, and wood to create her jewelry. Her gorgeous signature pillow covers and cosmetic bags are made from denim and textiles sourced from African countries, incorporating vibrant cultural influences.
Beyond her creative pursuits, Kayla is the Head of School in southern Africa, where she also sources Shweshwe fabric for her unique designs. She values collaboration and partners with women-centered small businesses, such as the Dedham Exchange, to amplify her impact.
